North Carolina Central quarterback Davius Richard is one of the top HBCU prospects for the 2024 NFL draft.

He helped to guide the Eagles to a Celebration Bowl victory over Jackson State last season and was an integral part of their national championship run.

He was named the 2022 MEAC offensive player of the year and was All-MEAC first team as a junior.
Richard, of Belle Grade, Fla., was named the MEAC’s offensive player of the week seven times in 2022.

He will lead the Eagles quest to win back-to-back conference titles for the first time since the Eagles won three in a row from 2014-2015 under former head coach Jerry Mack.

Here’s a loot at the top 25 HBCU draft prospects for the 2024 NFL draft:

  • Davius Richard, QB, North Carolina Central – The 6’3 quarterback from Belle Glade is multi-talented.
  • Jeremy Moussa, QB, FAMU – The 6’3″ 225-pound quarterback started his career at Vanderbilt.
  • Quinton Williams, QB, Howard – At 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, he has passe for more than 4,200 yards and 42 touchdowns over the past two season. He was named second-team All-MEAC last season.
  • Aaron Allen, QB, Alcorn State – He’s 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds. He completed 62.3 % of his passes last season.
  • Kenny Gallop, DB, Howard – He’s 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds. He was a first-team All-MEAC selection as a junior.
  • AJ Bennett, WR, Texas Southern – A 6-foot-2, 190-pounder with great hands and ball skills. He caught 22 passes for 288 yards and five touchdowns in 2022.
  • Jacorey Howard, RB, Texas Southern – He’s 6-foot-1 and 224 pounds. He’s a bruising back with great agility. He rushed 97 times for 425 yards (4.4 per carry) and had six touchdowns. He has a long of 52 yards. He also caught nine passes for 103 yards and three touchdowns.
  • LaDarius Owens, RB, Texas Southern – He has quickness out the backfield at 5-9 and 186 pounds. He rushed 123 times for 661 yards and caught nine passes for 80 yards in 2022.
  • Taquon Brown, DL, Lane – He’s 6-foot-2 and 294 pounds. He’s very active and difficult to play at his level.
  • Thomas Douglas, LB, Alabama A&M – He’s 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds. He in line for an increased role and productivity.
  • Mohamed Elazazy, OL, Alabama A&M – He started his career at Western Michigan. He’s 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds.
  • Carson Vinson, OL, Alabama A&M – AAMU has some big boys on their offensive line in 2023. The 6’6, 305 pounder from Cary, N.C. is a fun player to watch.
  • Corey Bullock, OL, North Carolina Central – He is stout 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds. He was a named All-MEAC second in 2023.
  • Khalil Baker, DB, North Carolina Central – He has ball skills and will mix it up in the run-game.
  • Adrian Olivo, K, North Carolina Central – He has a lively leg and has show distance and consistency.
  • Brandon Codrington, DB, North Carolina Central – Codrington is one of the top kickoff and punt returners. He also plays defensive back.
  • Quantez Mansfield, DL, North Carolina Central – He’s 6-foot-2 and 295 pounds. He uses his quickness well and gets great penetration.
  • Malachi Bailey, DL, Alcorn State – Bailey is 6-foot-2, 260 pounds. He had 36 tackles and nine sacks last season.
  • Brandon Tucker, DL, South Carolina State – He’s 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds. He has a relentless motor.
  • Patrick Godbolt, DL, South Carolina State – He is a playmaker on the SCSU defense. He was named to the All-MEAC first-team.
  • Antonio Kennon, DB, Tuskegee – He has good size at 6-foot and 190 pounds. He finished with 25 tackles in 2022 and will hunt and hit.
  • Stanley Livingstone, DB, Tuskegee – Started his career at San Jose State. Had 26 tackles last season.
  • RJ Mobley, WR, Winston Salem State – He made 11 starts over 12 games last season and caught 21 passes for 442 yards and five touchdowns. He was named the Black College Hall of Fame offensive player of the game against Central State.
  • Sundiata Anderson, DE, Grambling State – He’s 6-foot-5 and 240-pounds. He’s one of the top pass rushers at this historic HBCU.
  • Isaiah Major, LB, FAMU – A 6’1″ 225 lbs. run-and-hit linebacker with cover skills.
